Terms of Use
1. General
1.1. These Terms govern your use of Selm: the Telegram Mini App, the bot @Selm_bot, the website selm.dilami.pro and related features (the “Service”).
1.2. The Service is provided by the Selm team (the “Team”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us through the support chat in the Service, or with the /paysupport command in the bot chat for payment questions.
1.3. By opening or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1.4. These Terms include the Privacy Policy, Community Rules, Paid Services Terms, Copyright and Takedowns, Refunds, Cookies and On-Device Storage and How AI Works in Selm.
1.5. The Service runs inside Telegram. By using it you also follow Telegram’s rules. Telegram is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the Service.
2. Who may use the Service
2.1. You must be at least 16 years old. If the law of your country sets a higher age for this kind of use, that age applies.
2.2. Stories marked 18+ are for adults only. To see them you turn on 18+ stories and confirm your age. By confirming, you state that you are at least 18.
2.3. Your account is created automatically the first time you open the Service through Telegram, based on your Telegram profile. One Telegram account means one Selm account. Don’t share access with anyone else.
3. What the Service provides
3.1. The Service lets you search a catalog of works; create stories (continuations, alternate endings, new seasons, “what if” scenes, prequels and spin-offs) as a season, fanfic, scene or screenplay; use the AI co-author; publish stories; read and listen to stories; give stars, comment, follow, remix, join challenges and support authors.
3.2. The Service is provided as it exists. We keep developing it and may add, change or remove features. We try to give advance notice of significant changes.
3.3. We aim for uninterrupted operation but don’t guarantee it. Outages, maintenance and limits imposed by Telegram, Anthropic, OpenAI and other providers may occur.
4. Your content
4.1. Content means everything you create or upload to the Service: stories, chapters, outlines, titles, descriptions, comments, profile data, support messages and reports.
4.2. You keep the rights to your content, to the extent you have them given the rights in the original works (section 6).
4.3. When you publish content to the feed or by link, you grant the Team a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license for as long as it stays published to store, reproduce and show it to users of the Service; to adapt it for display (layout, cards and previews when it’s shared on Telegram, an audio version for Pro subscribers); and to distribute it within the Service and in previews created when you or readers share the story.
4.4. The license in 4.3 ends when you unpublish or delete the content, except for remixes other users made before that moment (section 4.6), copies we keep for a limited time under the Privacy Policy, and cases where the law or a dispute requires us to keep it.
4.5. Drafts and “only me” stories are not published. We process them only to run features you start (for example, sending text to the AI co-author) and for moderation and support as described in the Privacy Policy.
4.6. By publishing a story to the feed or by link, you agree that other users may remix it: copy its chapters into their own draft to continue the story their way. Readers can see the link between the remix and the original, and you are notified.
4.7. You confirm that your content doesn’t break the law or anyone else’s rights, and you are responsible for it. You may not publish other people’s texts without permission.
4.8. We are not required to review content in advance, but we may hide, remove from the feed or delete content that breaks these Terms, the Community Rules or the law, or following a justified notice from a rights holder.
5. The AI co-author
5.1. AI features run on Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI models. Text is generated automatically at your request.
5.2. The AI can make mistakes: get canon facts wrong, repeat itself, produce inaccurate or inappropriate text, including text similar to existing works. Check the result before publishing. Deciding what to publish, and responsibility for it, are yours.
5.3. You may not use the AI to create prohibited content or to get around the Service’s limits.
5.4. We claim no rights to text the AI generates at your request: to the extent such text is protected by law, the same terms apply to it as to your content.
5.5. How the AI works and what data it receives is described in How AI Works in Selm.
6. Original works and rights holders
6.1. The catalog contains information about works from open sources. Titles, character names and images belong to their rights holders and are used to identify the works.
6.2. Selm is not affiliated with rights holders. Fan stories are unofficial, are not sequels by the original creators and are not endorsed by them.
6.3. Rights holders can file a notice under the procedure in Copyright and Takedowns.
7. Stars, sparks and paid services
7.1. A ⭐ star is a free rating a reader gives a story. Stars have no monetary value.
7.2. Sparks are an in-app unit for AI actions. Sparks are not money, e-money or a financial instrument, have no cash value outside the Service, can’t be exchanged for money and can’t be transferred to other users. Free sparks are added daily and expire at 00:00 UTC. Purchased sparks don’t expire while your account exists. The spark cost of an action depends on the AI model and is shown before the action starts.
7.3. Pro, spark packs and author support are paid with Telegram Stars under the Paid Services Terms. Buying Telegram Stars is governed by Telegram’s rules.
7.4. When you delete your account, unused sparks, an active subscription and your earnings balance are cancelled without compensation unless the law requires otherwise. If you have earnings, withdraw them before deleting.
8. Supporting authors and payouts
8.1. Readers may voluntarily support an author with Telegram Stars. This is a gift, not payment for goods or services, and it gives the reader no special rights to the story.
8.2. The Team keeps a 20% commission on each donation for running the Service. The remaining 80% goes to the author’s earnings balance.
8.3. Earnings can be withdrawn once the balance reaches 1,000 Stars. The author provides a payout method (a TON wallet or a Telegram account) and the Team processes the request. Only one request can be pending at a time.
8.4. Authors are responsible for reporting their income and paying taxes under the laws of their country.
8.5. We may suspend or decline a payout if we suspect fraud, manipulation or a rules violation, or if the law requires it. If a donation is refunded to the reader, its amount is deducted from the author’s balance.
8.6. Authors see who supported them and how much.
9. Advertising
9.1. The Service may show ads to users without Pro and offer sparks for watching an ad video. Pro subscribers see no ads. Ads are currently not shown in the Service.
10. Moderation and restrictions
10.1. Users report violations with the “Report” button. The Team reviews reports; there is no automated content screening.
10.2. For violations we may hide or delete content, remove a story from the feed or block an account. A blocked user keeps access to reading, settings, cancelling a subscription and support.
10.3. You can appeal a decision through support.
11. Deleting your account
11.1. You can delete your account in the Service’s settings. Your profile is anonymised at once; your stories and comments are hidden and permanently erased within 30 days. See the Privacy Policy.
11.2. If you open Selm again, a new empty account is created.
11.3. We may delete an account whose owner seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms.
12. Liability
12.1. The Service is provided “as is”. We don’t guarantee it will suit your purposes or work without errors.
12.2. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for users’ content, for text the AI generates at your request, for actions of Telegram and other third parties, or for lost profits and indirect damages.
12.3. Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights that cannot be limited by law.
13. Changes to these Terms
13.1. We may change these Terms. The new version is published on this page with its date. We announce significant changes in advance, in the Service or by a message from the bot.
13.2. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the new version. If you don’t agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
14. Governing law and disputes
14.1. We try to resolve disputes by negotiation. Message support and we will review your claim within 30 days.
14.2. These Terms are governed by the law of the country where the owner of the Service is registered. This does not take away the protection given to you by mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
15. Contact
15.1. The support chat in Selm (@Selm_bot) for anything; the /paysupport command in the bot chat for payments. Details about the owner of the Service are published on the Contact page.
