General

What is Selm?
A Telegram Mini App where fans write their own versions of series, movies, anime, manga, books and games with an AI co-author, and publish them for readers.
Is it free?
Yes. To start, a gift: your first 3 chapters are written by our strongest AI model (Claude Opus), no sparks needed. Every day you get 20 sparks for AI actions — about 4 medium-length chapters. Reading, stars, comments and publishing are free. Pro and spark packs are for when you want to write more.
Do I need to install anything or sign up?
No. Selm opens inside Telegram on your phone or computer. You’re signed in through Telegram automatically, with no passwords or forms.
How old do I need to be?
At least 16. Stories marked 18+ stay hidden until you turn them on in settings and confirm you’re 18 or older.
Which languages does Selm support?
The interface is in English and Russian. You pick the language of each story, and the AI writes in it.

Writing

Do I need to be a good writer?
No. In “AI writes” mode the co-author drafts the chapter and you edit. If you love writing yourself, pick “I write” and the AI joins only when you ask.
What if my favorite work isn’t in the catalog?
The catalog has 52,743 series, movies, anime, manga, books and games and grows every day. If something is missing, add it yourself: a title, a year and a couple of lines.
Which formats are there?
A season of episodes, a chaptered fanfic, a single “what if” scene and a screenplay in proper formatting. You choose when you create a story.
Is it comfortable to write on a phone?
Yes, Selm is built for phones: text saves itself and the AI works in one tap. Long chapters are easy to write on a computer in Telegram Desktop too.

AI

How does the AI know the canon?
Before you start, it builds a brief on the work from open sources: Wikipedia, TVmaze, Shikimori. It’s free, and the brief and its sources are visible in the app.
Which AI is used, and what does it learn about me?
Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI models, depending on the service settings; audio is made by OpenAI. They receive your story text and instructions, but not your name, username or Telegram ID. Details: How AI works in Selm.
What are sparks?
Units for AI actions: plot ideas cost 2, an outline 3, a chapter 3–8 depending on length, an edit 1. These are base-model prices: stronger models cost more (Claude Opus ×5), and the button always shows the exact price. Free sparks refresh daily at 00:00 UTC. Purchased sparks never expire.
Can the AI make mistakes?
Yes. It can mix up details or invent too much. The canon check helps catch those spots, and the author always has the final say.

Publishing and rights

Who owns my text?
You do. By publishing, you let Selm show the story to readers in the service and in share cards. You can delete it any time. Details in the Terms.
Can I keep a story to myself?
Yes. A new story is a draft only you can see. When publishing you choose: only me, by link, or the feed.
What is a remix?
A continuation of someone else’s published version. A remix copies the original chapters into your draft, and the original author is notified.

Payments

How do I pay for Pro?
With Telegram Stars, right in the app. Pro costs 149 ⭐ and renews every 30 days until you cancel. Pro gives you 150 sparks a day — about 6 medium chapters.
How do I cancel?
In Selm’s settings or in Telegram itself: Settings → My Stars → Subscriptions. Pro stays active until the end of the paid period.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are digital and usually not refundable. If something went wrong, say sparks didn’t arrive, message support via /paysupport: if it’s our fault, we’ll return the Stars. See the refund policy.
How do authors get paid?
Readers support authors with Telegram Stars. The author gets 80%, Selm keeps 20%. Earnings can be withdrawn from 1,000 ⭐: the team processes the request and pays to a TON wallet or a Telegram username.

Data and safety

What data do you keep?
Your Telegram profile data (ID, name, username, photo, language), your stories and your activity in the service. We can’t see your phone number or chats. See the Privacy Policy.
Where is the data stored?
The database and files live on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Story text is sent to Anthropic or OpenAI for the AI to work.
How do I delete my account?
In Selm: Settings → Delete account. Your profile is anonymised at once; stories and comments are hidden and permanently erased within 30 days.
How do I report a story or a comment?
Tap “⋯” → “Report”. The team reviews reports, and the author won’t know who reported. See the Community Rules.
